A warm welcome to those of you who want to learn Russian, my native language!
It is not an easy subject to learn with all those conjugations of verbs and declensions of nouns therefore I admire your bravery! But on the positive side in Russian we only have 3 Grammar tenses – Past, Present and Future (as opposed to more than 12 tenses in English)!
I am a native Russian speaker with a teaching degree in Russian, English and German. I am also a trained translator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
During my career I have worked as a language teacher in secondary schools in Russia and private schools in the UK. For the last 10 years I have been also giving private Russian lessons, not only to those who live in Horsham and Crawley but also throughout the country via Skype.
My Tutoring Approach
Every student is unique, so I ensure lessons are tailor-made to suit individual goals and interests of my students. I enjoy teaching in small groups as well as one to one. I aim to speak Russian with my students from the first lesson and help them build up their confidence communicating in a foreign language. I mix up the lessons with a variety of tasks to cover listening, speaking, reading and sometimes writing skills.
Before my course starts I usually discuss the student’s aims and agree what will be covered in lessons. Based on the individual information I will plan each lesson so that it is structured - but still flexible.
Lessons can take place at my home, your home or your office.
if you want to learn Russian for business or private purposes,
start from the beginning or advance your linguistic skills,
need help with GCSE or A-level exam preparation,
you are an individual or group,
I will be glad to help.
I am based in West Sussex, near Crawley and Horsham, and willing to travel within 10 miles of my office. If I have to travel to you, a little extra may be added for transport costs, depending on where you live.
